If your student has to be absent
Please call or e-mail
me by 10 am of that
day.
A note is
required
describing the reason for
the absence when he/she returns to
school. Written documentation of an absence
must be received within 3 days from the date of
the absence.
Otherwise the absence will be
unexcused.
Unlike elementary schools
, attendance at the
secondary level is taken each class period.
Therefore if a student comes in late or needs to
leave early, they will be marked absent for the
class periods they mis
s.
If you get a doctor's note that does not cover
the entire time your student is out, you will
need to write a note to excuse the rest of the
day(s).
Absences such as vacations and trips (except
those excused by the principal for unusual
circumstances), babysitting, working, and non-
school-sponsored athletic events and programs
shall be considered unexcused.
Please make sure that the student's first and
last name appear on all notes that are turned in
to the office.
For more information regarding Northwest
ISD's Attendance Guidelines please refer
to page 26 of the Student Code of
Conduct available on-line.
Thank You!
