  • Veteran's Day

Veteran's Day, November 11th, is an important day in which we express gratitude to the men and women that have served in the United States military. We would be honored to showcase veterans from our students' families by displaying pictures and information about them on a special bulletin board near the gym. If you would like your veteran(s) highlighted, please submit the following to Veronica Love by email to vlove@nisdtx.org • A photo of your veteran. You may also bring the photo to the front office to have it scanned. • A completed "Veteran's Day Photo Information" sheet including the Rank and Name of Service Member, the student related to the Service Member, Branch of Service, and a few optional comments you would like to share. We will also be honoring Veterans at a special Veteran’s Day assembly on Tuesday, November 11th from 7:45am-8:05am. The Rhythm and Rhyme Choir will combine with Fourth Grade classes to sing a special song and the entire school will sing You’re a Grand Old Flag. We will also have a special guest and bagpiper, Mr. Love, performing. Students are welcome to invite family members, who are serving or have previously served in the military, to the assembly. We would be honored to have them there.

  • Changes to Morning Drop-Off

“Beginning Wednesday, October 1 there is a change in morning arrival for those parents using our Parent Drop-Off in the back of the school. Please make note that we have changed the time to student drop-off in the rear of the school to 7:40 am. Staff will close the back doors at 7:40 in order to help prevent students from being counted as tardy as well as to have teachers who assist with morning drop-off to be able to arrive in their classroom ready for instruction in their classrooms at 7:45. If you arrive past 7:40 please park in the front parking lot and walk your child into the school building. As a reminder, the front circle drive is reserved to bus and daycare drop-off only. Student drop-off is not permitted in the front circle drive until after 7:45 am
