Collegiate Academy at Steele Accelerated High School
What is the Academy?
“The Collegiate Academy is an innovative pilot program being offered at Gainesville, Lake Dallas, and Steele Accelerated High Schools. The Academy allows 9th grade students with demonstrated outstanding academic performance and capability to enroll in specific Dual Credit courses designated by their high schools. Students are screened and recommended by middle school and high school counselors with final approval being given by NCTC Vice President of Instruction” (NCTC.edu).
- To be a member of the Collegiate Academy a student must be accepted into the program as a 9th grader and stay on track to complete the requirements for the Collegiate Academy Honor Cord.
- A student may begin taking dual credit courses at any grade-level without being a member of the Collegiate Academy if the student meets the academic and disciplinary requirements for dual credit.
- Students in the Collegiate Academy will be given priority registration.
- Collegiate Academy students will receive "face to face" instructional delivery for grades 9 and 10 with adjunct availability.
