The Technology Department strives to meet the needs and challenges associated with being one of the largest geographical and fastest growing public school districts in the state of Texas.
KIDS COME FIRST is a guiding belief that precedes everything we do. It is our goal to provide a premier infrastructure and access to state-of-the-art teaching and learning tools that best meet the needs of our students and staff.
The Technology Department is composed of the Data Network & Infrastructure department and the Computer Repair & Support department. Each department is staffed with talented and dedicated people striving to meet the ever-changing challenges inherent to the field of technology.
In every school and classroom, you will find technology tools ready to meet the challenge. Each classroom has a ceiling mounted projector with audio support; access to a mobile video conference / distance learning unit; streamed video content to the computer; computer labs for whole-group instruction; digital still cameras; digital camcorders; digital video announcements; document cameras; wireless network in all facilities; a computer for every teacher; a minimum of three student computers per classroom; web pages for every teacher; 1:1 computing devices for secondary students; the list goes on... These tools are not present so we can say, "we have the best," they are present so we can offer the best educational opportunities to our students.
We will continue to keep pace with the technologically entrenched world in which we find ourselves, offering opportunities to our students and preparing them to be competitive and successful in a global market place. Northwest ISD is well on its way to becoming the best and most sought-after school district in Texas!
