A note is required describing the reason for the absence when he/she returns to school. Written documentation of an absence must be received from a parent for an excused absence, or the doctor which is a medical absence. Otherwise the absence will be unexcused.
Unlike elementary schools, attendance at the secondary level is taken each class period. Therefore if a student comes in late or needs to leave early, they will be marked absent for the class periods they miss.
If you get a doctor's note that does not cover the entire time your student is out, you will need to write a note to excuse the rest of the day(s).
Absences such as vacations and trips (except those excused by the principal for unusual circumstances), babysitting, working, and non-school-sponsored athletic events and programs shall be considered unexcused.
Please be sure to include the following information on all absent notes/emails:
- Student's First and Last Name
- Date of Absence(s)
- Reason for Absence
- Signature of Parent or Doctor's Office
Attendance Records may be viewed online through the Home Access Center:
If you do not have a user name/password to access online attendance,
please contact the Front Office.
