The NISD Board of Trustees and administration invites the community to submit nominations to rename the Agricultural Sciences Learning Center.
Northwest ISD is pleased to announce the hiring of Michael Griffin, Ed.D. as the new executive director of elementary education. Griffin will begin her new role in July as the district begins a search to replace her current position at Haslet Elementary.
The Northwest ISD community has elected Anne Davis-Simpson and Judy Copp to fill two seats on the Northwest ISD Board of Trustees. Anne Davis-Simpson was elected to Place 3 with 62 percent of voter approval. Judy Copp received 100 percent of voter approval for Place 4.
Kay Granger Elementary School has been named a National School of Character by the Character Education Partnership (CEP). Granger is among 29 schools and districts across the nation to receive this honor. The campus is recognized for its commitment to character education and for fostering a positive environment for social and academic learning. Granger Elementary School will be featured at the National Forum on Character Education in Washington, DC in October.
Students from the Academy of Medical Professions traveled to Galveston to compete in the state Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA). Junior Ashley Humphries received first place in clinical specialty and junior Lyndee Crawford placed fifth in medical photography. Humphries will represent BNHS and the Academy of Medical Professions at the national HOSA competition this summer in Tennessee.
The Lady Bobcat golf team won the 4A state championship and the boys’ team finished fourth. Senior Maty Monzingo is the 4A state runner-up and junior Ryan Johnson finished in 10th place. The girls’ win marks the first team state championship for Byron Nelson High School and Northwest ISD.
