Dolch Sight Word List

It is incredibly important that your child develop a store of sight words.  These are word that they recognize immediately. The more sight words a child recognizes, the more quickly and fluently he or she can read.

What can you do to help?

  • Have your child point to the letters and name the letters in the sight word.
  • Use flashcards with the words on them.
  • Have your child find the sight words in newspapers, magazines or books. Even if they cannot read the newspaper article, they can find words from this list in it.
