NEF distributes funds to classrooms through innovative teaching grants.  This program was developed to encourage teachers to develop creative instructional strategies in the classroom.  District teachers are given the opportunity to make their creative ideas a reality, while positively impacting student learning.
 
Over the past fourteen years, 422 grants have been
 given to NISD Teachers totaling $1,206,194.51!

Grant Mentors
 
Kris Kelly and Sarah Menn, both former Teachers of the Year,  have stepped forward to serve
as "grant-writing mentors" for NEF.  Grant applicants may contact Kris or Sarah via email to
ask questions about the grant writing process as well as tips on writing award-winning grants.
