Prairie View Choir


(Choir is available for 4th and 5th grade students) 
 Deadline is Friday, Sept. 19th at midnight. Extended until Wednesday, Sept. 24th!  
Email and Text messages via Remind will be used to communicate important Choir information.
Please check your email on a regular basis for updated Choir information.  If your email address changes, please  be sure to send Mrs. Nassiff your new information.  If you are not receiving emails about choir information after choir registration is complete and rehearsals have begun, please contact Mrs. Nassiff.
 Don't forget to sign up for Remind to receive text message and/or email reminders about important choir information. This is the best way to stay up to date on choir rehearsal and concert dates, times and other information. Standard text messaging fees will apply as determined by your cell phone company.


Each grade will rehearse a minimum of 30 minutes a week. 

4th Grade Choir: Mondays from 10:25-10:55 a.m. during specials time and Tuesday mornings from 7:15-7:45 on weeks where there is a Monday holiday.

5th Grade Choir: Mondays from 9:30-10:00 during specials time and Thursday mornings from 7:15-7:45 on weeks where there is a Monday holiday.
Combined choir rehearsals for ALL choir students will take place in the mornings from 7:15-7:45 a.m. close to performance dates as needed. After school rehearsals will be held for special parts (acting, speaking, dancing, etc.) as needed.  Special parts are optional. You will be notified in advance of extra rehearsals.

Choir Performance Dates:
Required Performances 
Winter Concert--Dec. 16, 2014 @ 6:00 p.m. in the PVE Cafeteria
All Choir students are required to attend and need to be in the Prairie View gym no later than 5:25 p.m. dressed in the appropriate clothing.
Spring Concert--April 14, 2015 @ 6:30 p.m. in the Vernon Solomon Performing Arts Center at Northwest High School.
All choir students are required to attend and need to be at the PAC by ? TBD p.m.  
Wear choir t-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes.
To be eligible to attend the end of the year choir party students must attend both required performances (Holiday Concert in December and Spring Concert in April).
Optional Performances-TBD
Holiday in the Park at Six Flags-Dec. ? TBD
Optional performance-students must attend the Holiday Concert to be eligible to sing with the choir at Six Flags.We will NOT be taking a bus.  Students and parents will meet Mrs. Nassiff at Six Flags at the Carousel Stage (at the front entrance) in the park at ? p.m.  The park is open from 2 p.m.-10 p.m. so students can ride the rides after the performance under their parent/guardian’s supervision. If parents/guardians cannot attend and want their child to attend they must make arrangements for someone else to bring their child to Six Flags and supervise them while they are there. No school district employees will be available to supervise students after the performance.  The cost is $? per person.   All money for tickets must be in to Mrs. Nassiff no later than DEC. ?.  Dress will be choir t-shirt with white, long sleeved white shirt underneath, jeans, tennis shoes and Santa hat.  
Other Performance opportunities may arise during the school year.  You will be notified of dates and times and other information as soon as it is available.
Choir T-shirts

Choir t-shirts, jeans and tennis shoes are the attire for most concerts. 

Choir t-shirts are available for $10.  Please send $10 CASH by September 19th  for your child's t-shirt. If your child was in choir last year they do not need to purchase another shirt unless they need a different size or their shirt is not in good condition. Please contact Mrs. Nassiff if financial assistance for shirt is needed.
