I am proud to be back at Northwest High School this year!  I am looking forward to a great year.  Just to give you a little bit of information about me...

I was born in a small town in Northeast Texas near Paris.  I moved into the Denton area in 2001 where I attended the University of North Texas and received my Bachelors degree as a Psychology major.  After taking a year off I decided to complete my Masters degree at UNT in Counseling Education.  I am currently working on getting my LPC internship license which will then allow me to get my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).
I have worked for Communities in Schools of North Texas since 2008 here at Northwest HS.  Before that I worked as an intake coordinator at a local counseling center.  My previous work history involves working with children and teens at the Coppell Family YMCA, Denton ISD Extended School Day program, and several other child centered organizations.
My love for children and adolescents gives me the ability to work long hours and weekends to help my students in need.  I have a passion for helping others and hope to always "pay it forward."
I enjoy spending time with my husband and our small dog, Snickers.

My role as at Northwest is one of many responsibilities.  I am here to ensure that each student that I work with has the means to be successful in school and be prepared for life.  Sometimes this involves providing food, clothing, school supplies, and holiday assistance while other times it means providing individual or group counseling for a variety of issues.  These are just a few of the many services that CIS can provide to students and families.  Please check out the Home page to see a list of some of the main services provided.
Please feel free to contact me with questions, concerns, or for more information.
