Lesson Plans

American Memory's The Learning Page  Take advantage of the digital primary sources provided by the Library of Congress.  You'll not only find lesson plans on U.S. History, civics, and literature, but also explanations of how primary sources on American history and culture can be used to bring history to life. 

NY Times Learning Network   Search the Lesson Plan Archive, find out more about Issues in Depth, take the Daily News Quiz, use Science Q&A to discover ways to link science and real life, and check out On This Day to discover historical events that occurred on a particular date.

Animoto for Education  Create music videos on topics of your choice!  Animoto has now made this service free to educators.  The possibilities are endless.

Ed.VoiceThread This digital storytelling tool site created for educators and students is a secure, collaborative site.  The site's creators do an excellent job of explaining the service using a VoiceThread.
VoiceThread for Education   This wiki offers great ideas how to incorporate VoiceThread into your classroom.
Google Earth Lessons  This site not only has sample lessons, but also has "how to" guides on using Google Earth.
Wikispaces for Educators   Want to see your students put forth their best efforts in collaborating?  Wikispaces offers a free wiki to educators (no ads!). Wikis allow students to create and edit content and allow teachers control over both the content and who can collaborate on the space.  (See the "How Do I? and FAQs" page for a tutorial on how to create your own wiki.)
