Dear Parents/Guardians:

 

Pleasant greetings! My name is Ruben Dominguez and I am your students new Spanish teacher. I am very excited to be working in such a dynamic and well structured school which has an amazing faculty and staff. It is truly a privilege to be able to teach to and be a positive influence in the lives of tomorrows leaders. 

 

I have a Bachelor degree in History with a minor in Spanish from the University of North Texas, where I am member of the Spanish Honor Society among others. As a youth I lived several years in the Dominican Republic where I acquired an in depth knowledge of the Spanish language, culture and history which I enjoy sharing with my students. I have also had the opportunity to visit most of North America, the Spanish speaking Caribbean Islands, and parts of Central America. I am privileged to say that I have served our nation as a Sergeant and Instructor of Junior Marines in the United States Marine Corps; during my 6 years in the Marine Corps I also served a tour of duty in Iraq.

 

I believe that knowledge of a foreign language not only enhances career opportunities in this modern world, but builds bridges of communication and a respect for others cultures.  I will seek to impart in my students some of the values I have learned and experiences I have gained by incorporating special activities that will expand their Spanish vocabulary, enrich their minds and engage their hearts towards other cultures. I look forward to meeting you and I am excited to be teaching your student!
