Snack Sacks

Weekends can bring hunger to children who depend on school meals for their primary nutrition.  The Snack Sacks program supplies packs filled with child-friendly, nonperishable food to students most at risk of being hungry on the weekends.  School counselors identify the children to receive the packs.  Local businesses and faith-based organizations shop for goods, pack the gallon storage bags, and deliver them to the schools on Thursdays.  As the children leave school Friday, the snack sacks are distributed.
