 Title 1 Parent Involvement Policy

 

The following Parent Involvement Policy was developed

by Clara Love Staff and Parents in accordance with Federal regulations.

 

 

Clara Love Elementary believes that parents are partners with teachers and school staff in the education of their children. The school believes that parent involvement is essential to building a positive, safe, and productive school climate and culture.

 

At Clara Love, we believe that in order for every child to experience academic success, parents need to have an understanding of curriculum, academic achievement standards, and district/school policies and procedures. Parents need to know how to monitor their children’s progress and work with educators to improve the achievement of their children. It is important for parents to get involved with social and extracurricular activities.

 

Clara Love administration, teachers, and staff will work in collaboration with parents and guardians by:

 

  • Respecting parents as partners in the education of their children
  • Setting high expectations for excellent customer (student/parent) service
  • Setting high expectations for all students
  • Promoting parent involvement in site-based leadership and decision-making
  • Fostering a welcoming and responsive environment for all parents
  • Establishing and promoting communication as a source of trust and understanding between the Clara Love staff and parents
  • Providing Title 1 program information in a timely manner (an annual meeting will be held to inform parents of Clara Love’s Participation and to explain the requirements of the program)
  • Ensuring that information related to school and parent programs, meetings, and other activities will be sent to parents in a format and language parents will understand.

 

 

At Clara Love Elementary, parents/guardians are asked and encouraged to be involved in their children’s learning and education by:

 

  • Understanding the school procedures and opportunities to contribute or receive support
  • Respecting the teachers and staff as partners in the education of their children
  • Utilizing two-way lines of communication between parents and the Clara Love staff on the instruction, achievement and conduct of their children
  • Participating in training opportunities that will include but are not limited to strategies/reinforcing learning at home, discipline, and understanding cultural differences
  • Participating in site-based leadership and decision making
  • Actively volunteering at Clara Love Elementary

At Clara Love Elementary we will facilitate parent involvement by providing a variety of opportunities for parents to be informed and communicate with the staff, and be active participants in the education of their children.
