Defending Champion Roanoke Elementary Continues to Lead Speeding to Read Competition
Roanoke Elementary continues to lead the pack in defense of its championship as the Rangers grabbed the Turn 2 lead among the seven schools participating in Texas Motor Speedway's Speeding to Read program for the 2014-2015 school year.
Roanoke Elementary is competing in the Frontstretch Division and is the top overall school with 95 percent of its student body meeting or exceeding their reading goals so far in this year's competition.  Nance Elementary leads the Backstretch Division and is in second place overall with 94 percent of its students meeting or exceeding their reading goals.
The seven schools, which consist of more than 3,500 kindergarten through fifth grade students, read 164,983 books during Turn 2 and have combined to read more than 264,000 since the competition began in September.
Congratulations to Texas Motor Speedway as Speeding to Read was recognized as the Best Youth Marketing Initiative for 2014 among the entire NASCAR industry.
