Over 3,000 Students Begin Reading Program

Three Northwest ISD elementary schools will participate in the 2014-2015 Texas Motor Speedway Speeding to Read program, reaching more than 3,000 students.  J.C.Thompson, Sonny and Allegra Nance and Roanoke elementary schools will compete with four other schools in this year's reading incentive program.

The Speeding to Read program began four years ago as an incentive to encourage elementary school students to read more frequently throughout the school year.  This year's contest will have two divisions, each based off of size and student body demographics, to determine a champion for kindergarten through second grade and third through fifth grade.
