Prekindergarten Registration 2014-2015
It is time to make appointments for Prekindergarten Registration! Qualification and registration will take place in August but you can get started now by scheduling your appointment. Prekindergarten registration is by appointment only in order to give families time for the qualification process and registration. Schools will be setting up online schedules for registration but you can also call the campus for directions to make your appointment.
Prekindergarten will be at the following schools for the 2014-2015 school year: Roanoke Elementary, Hughes Elementary, Justin Elementary, Clara Love, Peterson Elementary, Thompson Elementary, Prairie View Elementary (a.m. class only) and Seven Hills Elementary. Qualifications For Prekindergarten
Northwest ISD offers Prekindergarten classes for qualifying four-year-old children. To be eligible for enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year a child must be at least four years of age by September 1, 2014 and meet at least one of the following requirements:
Unable to speak and comprehend the English language
Documented on the oral language proficiency test administered at registration
Note: Please bring your child with you to your registration appointment for language testing.
Eligible for free or reduced lunch program -based on gross income of all working members of the household. Note - New guidelines for 2014-2015 will be posted in July.
Military Active duty uniformed members (parents or official guardians) of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Coast Guard who are assigned to duty stations in Texas or who are Texans who have eligible children residing in Texas;
This includes activated/mobilized uniformed members of the Texas National Guard (Army or Air Guard), or activated/mobilized members of the reserve components of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Coast Guard who are Texas residents regardless of the location of the reserve unit;
and uniformed service members who are Missing in Action (MIA), or injured while on active duty.
Children who are in or who have ever been under the conservatorship c of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following and adversary hearing. This includes children that have been adopted or returned to their parents after having been in DFPS conservatorship.

Prekindergarten Class Times
Prekindergarten is a half-day, instructional program. The morning class is from 7:45-10:45 a.m. and the afternoon class is from 11:45 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.Transportation is not provided during the mid-day hours. You will need to make arrangements to have your child dropped off and picked at the appropriate times so they can get the most out of their day of learning.
