NISD Announces Northwest High School Principal

For Jason Childress who will take the helm at Northwest High School, “I consider this an honor and a privilege to be named principal of Northwest High School.”Childress brings 10 years of educational experience to the position. Very familiar with NISD expectations, Childress currently serves as an assistant principal at NISD’s Byron Nelson High School and he was the eighth-grade lead science teacher at NISD’s Chisholm Trail Middle School. He has also taught and coached in Sanger

and in the Carroll school district where he was recognized for teaching excellence and won three state championships as a football coach.

“I look forward to developing relationships with the staff and community and I can’t wait to begin building on the already strong foundation that’s in place. Northwest already has strong traditions and I want to continue the culture of success,”he said. Northwest High School serves approximately 2,300 students from sevendifferent municipalities. Childress says he is passionate about bringing these communities together for a common focus. “That focus is student achievement in all areas,” he says. Childress earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and his master’s in educational leadership from Lamar University.
