NISD Staff Celebrate at District Convocation

For the first time since 2009, approximately 1,800 NISD employees gathered together for the district's convocation back to school address.  The assembly included celebrations of district accomplishments, recognitions of elementary and secondary teachers of the year and a keynote address from motivational speaker Deborah Estes, Ed.D.  Student performers included the Northwest High School drumline, cheerleaders and mascot, the Byron Nelson High School cheerleaders and mascot, and Medlin Middle School sixth-grader Jacky Seal.  The Convo Band, made up of 11 staff members, opened the program with musical performances and more than 50 employees sang in the district's first staff choir.
