Northwest ISD Superintendent of Schools Receives Hero Award

KarenG. Rue, Ed.D. accepted the Bayard H. Friedman Hero Award as the most outstanding superintendent in north Texas at the Score a Goal in the Classroom’s “The Best is Yet to Come” awards dinner on September 18.   The Bayard H. Friedman Hero Award was established in memory of Bayard Friedman, a renowned civic leader with a passion for public education, to honor outstanding school employees.  Rue was presented a $1,000 honorarium which she donated to the Northwest ISD Education Foundation (NEF). 

 

The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees also were recognized for their service and leadership, as well as three Northwest ISD students.  Clara Love Elementary student Jayden Teschke was awarded for reading the most books during the 2011-2012 Texas Motor Speedway Speeding to Read challenge. Tidwell Middle School student Gini Choi was awarded the Fine Arts Champion award for being named the highest ranked violinist in the area.  Northwest High School student Matt Boyd received recognition for his attendance during the 2011-2012  school year. Boyd was the winner of the 2012 Chevy Camaro at the Northwest ISD Strive N Drive in May.  Each student was presented a Dell laptop computer.
