3 NISD Athletes Compete in State Cross Country Meet

Northwest High School  sophomore Katherine Chavez is the Region 1 champion and set the course record.  In the state 5A girls’ race, Chavez placed  13^th.  Northwest High School junior Zach Kirkland placed 19^th in the boys’ 5A race.  Byron Nelson High School senior Rana Ryan placed 18^th in the 4A girls’ race.  This is the first time BNHS has sent a cross country athlete to the state contest.
