About the Dashboard
About the Community Accountability Dashboard
Northwest ISD's community of students, families, staff and residents remain committed to educating the whole child. Our community desires education that teaches children strong academic fundamentals as well as additional skills that prepare them for future success, such as career and technical education to provide a competitive advantage when entering the workforce. Student success is measured by more than a single standardized testing system's scores. Similarly, participation rates in extracurricular activities such as athletics and fine arts remain high because our community values collaborative skills, responsibility and healthy choices.
To provide our community with a background on the areas it values most, the Northwest ISD Community Accountability Dashboard will offer informative statistics and details relevant to the areas that matter most to our community. This dashboard will be updated throughout the year during major milestones, such as after certification tests are completed. Academics
Academics
Strong academics are at the forefront of Northwest ISD's priorities, keeping with our core belief that continuous learning is essential to prepare for college and career opportunities. Several sources provide our community with opportunities to measure district and school success, including graduation rates, testing data and more.
In Northwest ISD, every child receives personalized learning experiences to grow both academically and as a person.
Extracurricular Programs
Extracurricular Programs
While academic programs are at the core of Northwest ISD's mission, extracurricular programs support academic initiatives with fundamental skills such as collaboration. In Northwest ISD, more than 80% of students at the secondary level participate in at least one extracurricular activity, showing a strong desire in such programs.
Life Readiness
Life Readiness
Life readiness is a core component of Northwest ISD's operations, as each student has a different path in life and different measures of success. As outlined in Northwest ISD's mission statement, we work with our community to engage in a culture of learning that prepares all students to confidently navigate their future. This includes through career and technical education programs; college, career and military readiness initiatives; as well as general training to develop life skills. Regardless of what a student's future holds, our mission is to prepare them for whatever path they take in life.
Operations
District Operations
To meet the needs of students, teachers and community members, a high-functioning staff supports daily operations across Northwest ISD. As with classroom operations, district operations reflect the core belief that kids come first. From a staffing perspective, for instance, our district recruits and retains high-quality educators and professionals to ensure students and schools have the personnel support needed for success. Similarly, to meet the district's third strategic goal, we engage our community members in programs that support students.
District operations are vital to a successful school district. While our core mission is student academics, for example, our first priority is always student safety. For students to learn, they must first have a safe learning environment. This mentality of putting the needs of students first permeates our culture and defines how decisions are made in Northwest ISD.
