Leadership
Elected Officials
As with most public school districts, our community-elected Board of Trustees steers the district in its decisions through public meetings and votes. They rely on district and school staff for the day-to-day operations for Northwest ISD to function. Trustees, commonly referred to as school board members, provide oversight and governance of a school district.
District Leaders
The superintendent of a school district oversees the entirety of a school district and all its campuses. He or she is directly employed by the Board of Trustees.
Members of the executive cabinet oversee core daily functions of the school district. This group provides support to the superintendent and schools.
Executive directors oversee individual departments within a school district, such as academics, facilities, technology and more. They directly support schools.
School Leaders
Principals are the leaders of each Northwest ISD school, overseeing the campus in every aspect. Principals supervise all employees on a campus, including both teachers and support staff. All Northwest ISD principals are experienced educators.
