Dr. Ryder Warren, Superintendent

Dr. Ryder Warren is leading Northwest ISD as superintendent of schools. With a focus on empowering future-ready leaders and learners, he is creating a culture of learning that enables students to achieve their definition of personal success.  It is an exciting time for Northwest ISD as the visionary district provides a multitude of opportunities to students and attracts a rapidly increasing number of families to the area.

Under his direction and with input of students, parents, community members, and staff, Northwest ISD is guiding the future direction of the district under the new 2018-2022 Northwest ISD Strategic Framework. Dr. Warren oversaw the successful passage of a $399 million bond package (May 2017) and is now implementing building projects to most effectively manage the school district’s growth.

As the district representative Dr. Warren, addresses and advocates for open communication, school safety, transportation infrastructure, Texas public school funding, and more. In July 2016, Dr. Warren joined Northwest ISD after serving as superintendent of Midland ISD for the previous six years. He led Marble Falls ISD as superintendent of schools from July 2003 to June 2010 and was previously the superintendent at Crane ISD and Thorndale ISD.
Dr. Warren began his career in education as an English teacher and coach in Georgetown ISD. With a desire to broaden his impact and service to students, he served as principal in Whiteface Consolidated ISD and Crosbyton ISD. He also served as an adjunct instructor for Texas Tech University.
Dr. Warren has a Bachelor of Science degree from Angelo State University, a Master of Educational Administration from Southwest Texas State University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. He holds certifications as a superintendent, mid-management administrator, secondary English teacher, and secondary physical education teacher.
Dr. Warren and his wife, Jill, are the proud parents of three children: Joshua, Taylor Ann, and Boomer.
