Board of Trustee Award of Excellence
The Northwest Independent School District Board of Trustees annually presents the Trustee Awards of Excellence to students who have made outstanding accomplishments throughout the school year. The Trustee Award of Excellence is the highest, most prestigious district award given.
Trustee Awards of Excellence recognize students who have achieved high honors while representing NISD in various curricular and co-curricular competitions and events. As of 2023, all large teams who qualify for a Board of Trustee Award will be honored at a school board meeting so all members receive recognition for their accomplishments.
Principals, sponsors, and curriculum coordinators should submit names of students who are eligible for Trustee Awards of Excellence. All nomination submissions are due on or before April 11, 2025. Only one award can be submitted per form. If a student has more than one award, you must submit a form for each event.
Principals, sponsors, and curriculum coordinators may propose additional awards for students who achieve recognition commensurate with those listed. These should be submitted under the “Other” category. The Trustee Awards Review Committee will review these nominations for possible inclusion.
All nominations will be closely reviewed for appropriateness and correct information. If a submission requires a correction or does not qualify for this award, it will be sent back to the person who submitted the nomination. If a correction needs to be made, a new form submission will be required. Please address questions to the Communications Department, at cmetting@nisdtx.org or 817-215-0171.
Three Board of Trustee Awards ceremonies will be conducted. The first ceremony will be held at V. R. Eaton High School Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, to honor the students of feeder schools in the V. R. Eaton High School attendance zone. The second ceremony will be held at the Byron Nelson High School Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, to honor the students of feeder schools for Byron Nelson High School, and students of Steele Early College High School. The third ceremony will be held at Vernon Solomon Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025, to honor the students of feeder schools for Northwest High School.
