Health Sciences Courses:

Principles of Health Science
This course is designed to provide an overview of the therapeutic, diagnostic, health informatics, support services, and biotechnology research and development systems of the health care industry.

Health Science Theory 
This course will foster hands-on exploration and increase student awareness of health care careers and skills needed to successfully prepare for the health care industry.

Anatomy & Physiology
This course is designed for students to conduct laboratory and field investigations, use scientific methods, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving. Students will study a variety of topics, including the structure and function of the human body and the interaction of body systems for maintaining homeostasis. Students must meet the 40% laboratory and fieldwork requirement. This course satisfies a high school science graduation requirement and will be included in the calculation of the weighted GPA.

Practicum in Health Science Clinical Medical Assistant  (Internship)
This course is designed to give students practical application of previously studied knowledge and skills. Practicum experiences take place within NISD Clinics. An examination for Certified Medical Assistant is required at the end of the course.
