Eaton players celebrate their state semifinal victory

The state champion Eaton High School baseball team will ride on the featured float in the city of Haslet’s Independence Day Parade on Friday, June 29, recognizing the team’s tremendous accomplishments this year.

Haslet’s 17th annual Independence Day Parade will begin at 7:30 p.m. June 29 at the Haslet Community Park, located at 301 1st St. Following the parade – and prior to the event’s fireworks celebration – Coach Jeremy Fatheree will address the crowd regarding the team’s season.

The Eagle baseball team won the UIL 5A state championship on June 9 with a 4-1 victory over the Forney High School Jackrabbits. The championship is the school’s first team state title in its history, and it comes in just the second year of varsity competition and first year with a senior class.
