
Northwest High School’s one-act play has advanced to the area round of UIL competition following a strong performance in the bi-district round of competition.
The Texans competed in the bi-district round on Tuesday, March 26, at Chisholm Trail High School, earning multiple awards in addition to advancing as a group for their performance of Lauren Gunderson’s “Ada and the Engine.” Northwest’s bi-district competition included groups from districts 7-5A and 8-5A.
Awards earned by the Texans include best overall technical crew; outstanding technician, Audrey Burnett best actor, Joe Skipper; all-star cast, Cora Cravey and Joseph Tester; and honorable mention all-star cast, Madison Luckey.
Northwest’s one-act play company is led by the direction of Laura Skipper, theatre director.
The Texans, who advanced with a first-place ranking, will perform in the area competition on Friday, April 5, at Keller Central High School.
