Northwest ISD uses several tools to keep families informed about important events and dates across the district, as do its schools. Most direct communication comes from email messages, while the district also shares information to social media channels and its website.

The district’s primary email newsletter, Northwest News, is sent to families twice a month. Other newsletters, such as school board meeting recaps, and standalone messages for important reminders or updates are sent on a less frequent basis.

Additionally, information is shared on the district website,, and the following social media channels:

Occasionally, for important reminders, the district may use phone calls or text messages to contact families. Calls are generally the preferred method of phone communication, as text messages have a smaller chance of reaching families because of carrier practices.
