Each of Northwest ISD’s five high schools – Byron Nelson, Eaton, Northwest and Steele – held a National Signing Day ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11, with 25 student-athletes signifying their intent to play collegiate sports and continue their academic pursuits.

The ceremonies marked the second large-scale Signing Day of the 2020 school year, following a large-scale ceremony in February where an additional 24 athletes signed their letters of intent. The traditional spring signing event did not occur due to COVID-19 protocols and school closings.

At Wednesday’s ceremonies, the Byron Nelson Bobcats were represented by 10 student-athletes, the Eaton Eagles were represented by nine student-athletes and the Northwest Texans were represented by five student-athletes. For the first time in school history, Steele Accelerated High School was represented by one student-athlete, beach volleyball player Chloe Culver, who signed with San Jose State University.
