Northwest ISD schools are looking forward to an exciting 2021-22 year when classes begin on Wednesday, Aug. 18! To help families get off to a great start, here are some important dates and details to be aware of.

As you prepare for school to start, please review the following information for a stress-free return to school. In addition to important dates at the bottom of this email, here are some reminders and updates about the new school year:

  • Enrollment ongoing: The online enrollment process is ongoing, and if you have not yet completed this registration, doing so as soon as possible will help schools prepare for students.
  • School supplies by campus: What items should your child bring on the first day of school? Visit our school supply directory at www.nisdtx.org/schoolsupplies for an easy-to-find list for your child’s campus!
  • Bus routes now available: If your child qualifies for transportation service and plans on riding the bus, you will receive information about his or her route via email no later than Aug. 16 so long as you filled out the transportation request during registration. If you have registered for transportation services, your routes are currently available online here.
  • Student Grades, Schedules: Home Access Center is the primary location for families to check information about their students, such as grades and schedules. For information about using HAC, click here.
  • Free Meals at Elementary, Middle Schools: For the 2021-22 school year, meals will again be free at the elementary and middle school levels. This includes one meal at each student at breakfast and lunch. Despite this, it is greatly beneficial for families to still fill out the free and reduced-cost meal application. This application provides other services for support; it also ensures campuses receive appropriate funding to support students. If you qualified previously or believe you may now, we strongly encourage filling out this application. High schools do not offer free meals for all students as they do not operate on the same meal program.

The details below are important districtwide dates at each campus level. To see the full 2021-22 calendar, click here.
