Durham School Services and Northwest ISD are committed to the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of Northwest students. Recent parent surveys indicate that roughly 85 percent of Northwest parents and guardians are happy or satisfied with the transportation services provided for their children.

Every district bus route undergoes a pre- and post-vehicle inspection to ensure safety standards are met. Drivers use an electronic vehicle inspection reporting device to scan access points on the bus, allowing Durham to document proper trip inspections. This data is sent to the local maintenance team for mechanics to make repairs. Drivers are required to receive special security and medical training to provide a safe ride for students.

If your child will be riding a school bus to and from school each day, please make every effort to let the student ride the bus the first few days of school at least in the afternoon. This will assist the drivers in determining the number of students who will be riding their buses every day, allowing them to plan and execute their routes in a consistent manner.
