Principles of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (1 Credit)
In this introductory course, students learn about the diverse career opportunities available in agriculture through experiences in leadership development (FFA), plant science, animal industry, food technology, and agriculture mechanics. Students will have the opportunity to complete the OSHA-10 training program.
Agricultural mechanics and metal technologies (1 Credit)
This hands-on laboratory based course prepares students for entry-level skills needed for an applied agriculture engineering career such as safety practices, tool operation, carpentry, welding, plumbing, concrete and electrical wiring. Students will work toward the skills needed for AWS Welding Certification.
Agricultural equipment design and fabrication with lab (2 Credits)
This project-based course helps students develop knowledge and skills needed for a career in mechanized agriculture. Students take the skills learned in Agriculture Mechanics and Metal Technology to design and fabricate agricultural equipment projects.
Certifications: AWS (American Welding Society) Certified Welder
Practicum in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources [Internship] (2 Credits)
This course is designed to give students supervised and practical application of knowledge and skills. Practicum experiences can occur in a variety of locations appropriate to the nature and level of experiences such as employment, independent study, internships, mentorships, or laboratories.
