• Read daily to increase fluency and comprehension skills to deepen their understanding of an author’s work. 
• Write daily to develop and expand written composition skills, handwriting, and language conventions through the writing process. 
• Engage in foundational literacy skills through repeated practice of phonological awareness, phonics, and word study.
