A World Languages student will…

  • Gain an understanding of the nature of communication and the complexity of culture through multiple perspectives and means of expression, which lead to an appreciation of difference and diversity.
  • Engage in conversations, present information to an audience, and interpret culturally authentic materials in the language of study.
  • Reach a proficiency level as defined in the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines 2012 and the ACTFL Performance Descriptors for Language Learners.

  • Students whose heritage language is Spanish can take the AAPPL test for placement in a higher language course.  If you wish to request an AAPPL test for a student, please contact your child’s school counselor.
