Parent Leadership Council

The Parent Leadership Council (PLC) serves as a vital bridge between families and Northwest Family Services, fostering collaboration, engagement and leadership. By working together, the Council helps families achieve goals that support a child's success beginning in the early childhood years. The PLC provides parents with a platform to share their perspective as they help one another to better support decisions affecting young children and families.  

What PLC Members Do?

Members of the parent Leadership Council play an active role in shaping Northwest Family Services programs by working closely with staff to provide input that helps strengthen services and improve outcomes for families. 

  • Share ideas and lived experiences and recommendations.
  • Advise on program improvements
  • Participates in leadership training. 
  • Build Skills & Relationships
    • The opportunity to connect with other parents, share hobbies and interests, and participate in workshops designed to support success at home and in the community.
  • Find Connections 
  • Lead & Serve
    • Parents grow as leaders by volunteering for at least one year, attending bi-monthly meetings and workshops, and having the opportunity to run for officer positions within the council.
