PEIMS data submitted determines state funding, compliance, and accountability.

• Submission 1 - Fall Snapshot - Student enrollment, leavers and staff
• Submission 2 - Mid-Year - Prior year actual financial data
• Submission 3 - Summer - Attendance, discipline, course completions (full year)
• Submission 4 - Extended Year - Summer/extended-year programs (if applicable)

The Texas Student Data System (TSDS) is the state’s platform for more detailed data reporting. The Core Collections are specialized sets of data that districts are required to report in addition to the main PEIMS submissions.

• SPEDs: Special education evaluations and compliance measures (SPPI-11/12, SPPI-7, SPPI-13)
• Class Roster – Winter: Teacher-student assignment data (TIA, HB 4545)
• ECDS (Early Childhood Data System): Pre-K and Kindergarten student, staff, classroom, and assessment data
• RFT (Residential Facility Tracker): Tracks students with disabilities in residential facilities
• SPPI-14: Post-school outcomes for students with disabilities (grades 9–12 leavers)

Our Mission

The mission of Northwest ISD’s PEIMS Department is to ensure the accurate collection and reporting of PEIMS data in compliance with the Texas Student Data Standards and TEA’s Student Attendance Accounting Handbook, as well as all TEA regulations. We are committed to submitting timely, fatal-free data, while effectively communicating deadlines and requirements to all NISD departments to support compliance and funding.

Our Goals

• Ensure Data Quality: Establish and maintain procedures that support data accuracy and compliance with TEA reporting requirements as outlined in the PEIMS Data Standards and the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook.
• Provide Staff Training: Equip district and campus staff with guidance on PEIMS coding requirements and common issues to ensure consistent and accurate data management.
• Support Data Verification: Generate and share PEIMS TSDS reports with district and campus staff for review, verification, and analysis, while addressing and correcting any data inconsistencies.
• Maintain Compliance: Adhere to all TEA, state, federal, and district policies and regulations to guarantee timely and accurate submission of PEIMS data.
