NEF Supports NISD Teacher Transition

As a fast growth district, NISD can face some challenges during the first few weeks of the school year with campus/classroom sizes and staffing needs. These challenges are no match for the amazing educators across the district, who always make sure "Kids Come First"! Last week, NEF supported six elementary teachers as they transferred to different campuses to relieve overcrowding in classrooms.

Jennifer Burton named executive director of the Northwest ISD Education Foundation

Jennifer Burton, an NISD parent and former board member for the Northwest ISD Education Foundation (NEF), has been named the new executive director for NEF. In her new role, Burton will lead the administration, programs and strategic plan for the foundation.

NISD renews partnership with NEF

Traveling the universe with virtual reality

Imagine traveling through space and seeing the individual bits of rock and ice that make up Saturn’s outer ring or experiencing an art festival in Egypt and comparing it to others around the world. For some students in Northwest ISD, these experiences have become a reality – at least, a virtual reality.

NEF celebrates Teachers of the Year, Employees of the Year and finalists with monetary awards

Northwest ISD recognized its 2019-20 Teachers of the Year in surprise celebrations at their homes on Wednesday, May 6, with plans to recognize them and all top educators and staff at the district’s convocation before the start of the 2020-21 school year. The Northwest ISD Education Foundation celebrated recipients with monetary awards for their hard work and dedication.

The ShyAnn Hooper Memorial Scholarship

ShyAnn was a 16-year-old sophomore at Northwest High School when her life tragically ended on February 10, 2014. Tommy and Sandra Hooper established a scholarship in ShyAnn’s name to honor their daughter’s memory.
