Deadlines for Transfers, Resignations
Campus Transfer Deadline: June 1
As noted in DK Regulation and the NISD Employee Handbook, the transfer window for voluntary transfers will close on June 1.
The only transfers considered after June 1 will be those that are a promotion. In addition, please note that the last day to resign your position penalty-free is June 29, 2024. Only current employees returning for the 24-25 school year can work summer school. If you have any questions, please contact the HR office.
If you are interested in viewing open positions and applying for a transfer within Northwest ISD, you will need to complete an online application through TalentEd as an internal candidate. You can access TalentEd through the district website. If an employee has not yet set up login credentials within TalentEd, an account will need to be established.
Resignation Deadline: June 29, 2024
Contract Employees: (Policy DFE) Contract employees may resign their position without penalty at the end of any school year if written notice is received at least 45 days before the first day of instruction of the following school year. To resign your position in Northwest ISD for the 2024-2025 school year, resignations must be received no later than June 29, 2024.
If you are resigning, please email your letter of resignation to Kim Barker, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources at kbarker@nisdtx.org or mail it to NISD Human Resources, PO Box 77070, Fort Worth, TX 76177-0070.
Texas Education Code Sec. 21.105 (a) A teacher employed under a probationary contract for the following school year may relinquish the position and leave the employment of the district at the end of the school year without penalty by filing with the board of trustees or its designee a written resignation not later than the 45th day before the first day of instruction of the following school year. A written resignation mailed by prepaid certified or registered mail to the president of the board of trustees or the board’s designee at the post office address of the district is considered filed at the time of mailing.” Sec. 21.210(a) is the section on term contract employees and reads the same as above, except for the insertion of “term contract"
