Technology Proficiency Requirements
At Northwest ISD, we believe that technology enables us to extend our reach and become more effective, relevant, and connected educators. In order to ensure that our staff is prepared to thrive in this environment, all non-auxiliary employees complete a mandatory technology proficiency course.
Foundations of Technology
Foundations of Technology (FOT) — This online, self-paced course serves as Part 2 of New Hire Orientation, guiding staff through the broad landscape of tools and systems at Northwest ISD, customized to their specific role. As participants move through each module, they will actively connect to systems to verify access and resolve technical hurdles early. By the end of the course, participants will have a foundational understanding of our district’s digital ecosystem with exposure to technical applications needed for success in their new role. This course is to be completed within six months of hire.
