Transportation Services

Northwest ISD's transportation team operates the district's bus service, providing students who qualify with a safe and reliable trip to and from school. Transportation is provided to those who live 2 miles or farther from their zoned school or those who live beyond a designated hazardous route.

The Bus Rider Handbook will help students and parents/guardians to understand the responsibilities involved with riding the school bus to ensure safety and reliability. Parents/guardians are encouraged to read and discuss this important information with their child.

For those who wish to track their child's school bus, Northwest ISD will use SMART tag™ for the 2023-2024 school year.

SMART tag™ is designed to ensure authorized ridership and improve the safety and security of students who utilize school bus transportation. SMART tag™ provides live monitoring of where and when students load onto and unload off of their school bus to keep transportation, administrators and parents informed.
