Amanda Bomar named principal of Prairie View Elementary School

Northwest ISD has named Amanda Bomar as principal of Prairie View Elementary School, transitioning a respected principal within the district to the campus.
Ms. Bomar has served as principal of Hughes Elementary School for the past two years, establishing a strong community partnership between the campus and its families. Prior to joining Northwest ISD, she served as principal of Pecan Creek Elementary School in Denton ISD for four years. As a principal, Ms. Bomar strongly believes in fostering a positive campus culture that sets a tone for student learning and family engagement.
“While I’m sad to leave my Hughes Hawk family behind, I’m excited to join another family of Hawks and establish relationships with our students, teachers and families,” she said. “An exciting year lies ahead for our Prairie View Hawks, entering a new school building and continuing to welcome new friends through significant enrollment growth. I look forward to all we will accomplish together with our students.”
Prior to her time as principal, Ms. Bomar served as an assistant principal in Denton ISD for five years and a curriculum administrator for three years. She began her career in Crockett ISD as an intermediate school teacher and has also served students in Lufkin ISD and Mesquite ISD.
Throughout her career, Ms. Bomar has earned accolades for her professional abilities, including being nominated for the HEB Outstanding Teacher Award and earning multiple teaching grants. She has led presentations regarding instructional leadership, professional learning and other categories both in her school districts and across the region.
Ms. Bomar earned her Master of Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University, graduating summa cum laude, and she earned her bachelor’s degree in education from East Texas Baptist University.
