Northwest ISD has named Britney Kerley as the next principal of Carter Elementary, elevating a proven district leader for the upcoming school year.

For the past four years, Mrs. Kerley has served as assistant principal at Peterson Elementary. In that role, she supported academic growth through strong collaboration with campus teams to develop goals and regularly analyze data at the grade, classroom and teacher levels.

“I am honored to join the Carter Elementary community and serve its students, staff and families,” Mrs. Kerley said. “I look forward to building strong relationships and working together to ensure every student is supported and successful.”

Prior to joining Northwest ISD, Mrs. Kerley spent four years in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD as an assistant principal. Earlier in her career, she served as a seventh-grade language arts teacher and a reading interventionist for four years. She also taught second grade and kindergarten for 11 years.

Mrs. Kerley earned her master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University and her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Abilene Christian University.
