Bus driver pay increased to $23 per hour

To continue to value existing district bus drivers and attract new drivers, Northwest ISD trustees voted at their October 9 meeting to increase the starting hourly pay rate for bus drivers from $20 per hour to $23 per hour.

In addition to the increased starting rate, all existing drivers and office staff who continue to drive daily will receive a $3 per hour increase over their existing pay. With the new starting pay and increase for existing staff, Northwest ISD is now tied with Denton ISD for the top-paying bus driver salary in the area, ahead of all other neighboring districts.

The new pay rate is effective immediately, and the increase will be reflected in transportation employees’ November 9 semi-monthly payroll check.
