Byron Nelson and Northwest recognized as PLTW Distinguished High Schools for academies
Two Northwest ISD high schools have been named 2024-2025 Project Lead The Way Distinguished Schools for their commitment to helping students thrive in STEM education.
Byron Nelson High School’s Biomedical Sciences Academy earned the honor for the second consecutive year, and Northwest High School’s STEM Academy also received the recognition.
Project Lead The Way is a nationally recognized organization that provides STEM curriculum used in several of Northwest ISD’s career academies. To receive Distinguished School status, campuses must meet a range of criteria — including offering PLTW courses, having high student participation and encouraging students to take multiple PLTW classes.
