Byron Nelson recognized as PLTW Distinguished High School for Biomedical Sciences Academy
Byron Nelson High School is one of 29 schools in Texas to be recognized for empowering students to excel in STEM.
Project Lead the Way, an organization that develops STEM curriculum used by some of Northwest ISD's career academies, has recognized Byron Nelson as a 2023-24 PLTW Distinguished High School. This recognition signifies that its Biomedical Sciences Academy is empowering students to thrive in an evolving world and the program is achieving exemplary results.
"We are thrilled that our Biomedical Sciences Academy has been recognized by PLTW as a Distinguished Program," said Health Sciences Coordinator Monica Valenta. "This honor is a reflection of the hard work and dedication from the academy instructors and students, and we are thankful for the district's support to be able to offer such a dynamic experience for our students."
