Carolyn Carminati and Emily Trinque awarded first ever SHINE Awards

The inaugural Students Honoring Inspiring NISD Educators Award recipients were surprised at convocation early August.

Beck Elementary Speech Pathologist Carolyn Carminati and Chisholm Trail Middle School Theatre Director Emily Trinque were honored after being selected out of more than 400 student nominations of educators across the district.

Carminati was recognized for her extraordinary dedication and profound impact on her students' lives. One student shared a touching story of working with Carminati since the age of three and forming a strong bond that lasted through to her graduation.

Trinque, described as a "ray of sunshine," is praised for her constant efforts to make everyone feel valued. Students who nominated her expressed admiration for her inspiring example and the kind of educator they aspire to be.

The SHINE Awards will continue to celebrate outstanding teachers throughout NISD at the end of each nine-week period, with students invited to submit nominations.
