Northwest ISD has named Dr. Cindy Bauter, current associate principal of Northwest High School, as the district’s executive director of student affairs. Dr. Bauter will bring more than 24 years of educational administrative experience to a position that facilitates resolutions of complaints and provides support for student-faced challenges.

In her new role, Dr. Bauter will also serve as the Title IX coordinator for the district to ensure compliance with federal laws and policies. She will design and conduct training for district staff regarding processes for responding to complaints and conducting investigations.

“While I’ve loved my time at Northwest High School, I look forward to supporting students and families across the district to provide the assistance they need,” Dr. Bauter said. “Our district’s first core belief is ‘Kids Come First,’ and I believe I’m well-suited for this role to ensure we meet that standard.”

As the executive director of student affairs, Dr. Bauter will coordinate with both schools and the district to identify and address any challenges facing students. She will also oversee and coordinate all investigations, responses and resolutions to student or family complaints. Dr. Bauter brings experience with investigations, conflict resolution and responses to stakeholder complaints in both her current role and prior experience as an administrator in other school districts.

Prior to her time in Northwest ISD, Dr. Bauter served in leadership positions at both the campus and district level at several educational institutions. She began her career as a teacher in Lewisville ISD, advancing to becoming an assistant principal at Lewisville High School. She later served as an assistant principal of Decatur High School, then a coordinator of educational technologies in Fort Worth ISD.

As a principal at Big Sandy High School, Dr. Bauter coordinated closely with fellow district schools and provided support for special groups. And in her final role before joining Northwest ISD, Dr. Bauter served as the assistant director of iSchool Virtual Academy High School, providing support for students across the state.

Dr. Bauter earned her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of North Texas, her master’s degree in English from Angelo State University and her bachelor’s degree in theology from Ambassador University.
