Facebook Live on April 23 over Texas School Funding Crisis
How is the state's inaction to fully fund public schools affecting Northwest ISD? Join us at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, for a Facebook Live regarding the ongoing Texas School Funding Crisis and how the district is eliminating a roughly $16 million deficit caused by this inaction.
As always, district leaders will provide a brief update about Northwest ISD at the beginning, and they will respond to audience questions at the end. This week, the Texas Legislature will meet to address proposals for school funding and vouchers. Based on current data, Northwest ISD will receive funding to provide teacher raises and address some mandatory growth areas such as SPED, but the proposal still falls far short of fully funding public schools.
Northwest ISD’s Facebook Live video chats typically last about 30 minutes. For questions that are not answered during the video chat, the district provides written responses within the week. To participate in the video chat, visit the Northwest ISD Facebook page on the social network’s website or mobile app.
