Five Northwest ISD educators receive SHINE Awards
Loving. Inspiring. Encouraging.
These are just a few words to describe five educators nominated by their students for the Students Honoring Inspiring NISD Educators Awards.
On October 9, Ashley Lamb from Cox Elementary, Nellie Whitmire from Nance Elementary, Carrie Corkins from Sendera Ranch Elementary, Jessie Allen from Eaton High School and Caitlin Newman from Pike Middle School were surprised with cheers and balloons. They were chosen from over 1,100 student nominations from across the district.
Students praised Ms. Lamb as a caring and engaging teacher who makes learning enjoyable. Ms. Whitmire was recognized for her ability to bring laughter and fun to the classroom. Ms. Corkins was celebrated for her loving approach to teaching, making learning entertaining. Ms. Allen was nominated for her exceptional dedication, supporting her students academically while also providing valuable guidance and inspiration. Ms. Newman was highlighted for her determination to help students master math in creative and enjoyable ways.
The SHINE Awards will continue to honor outstanding teachers throughout the district at the end of each nine-week period, inviting students to submit their nominations.
