Four NISD employees receive Dr. David Hicks Excellence in Education awards

At this year’s Northwest ISD convocation, Chelsea Conner (Hughes Elementary), Ricky King (Worthington Middle School), Christy Matthews (Roanoke Elementary), and Loeida “Lulu” Taylor (Steele Early College High School) were honored with Dr. David Hicks Excellence in Education awards. Each of these four recipients was selected by their NISD peers as an outstanding employee and co-worker.

The Dr. Hicks Excellence in Education award honors the legacy of the late superintendent, Dr. David Hicks. In fall 2022, the Hicks family established a fund in his memory, and in keeping with Dr. Hicks's spirit, this fund will be used to recognize NISD employees who consistently go above and beyond to make NISD a great place to work.
